Westray Sailing Club was first formed in 1925 when local dignitories backed sailors in organising competitive racing and an annual regatta.

The club is properly constituted with a shed which houses the rescue boat and safety gear.

They have produced the book "Tight Sheets - Traditions and Tales", which is a celebration of Westray's Regatta and Westray Skiffs. This book is available from various outlets on Westray and online from Westray Studios. You can download some sample pages from the book in PDF format here.

There are toilets and showers also available at Gill Pier.

Weather permitting, the sailing club meet/sail every Tuesday and Thursday nights from May to September, everyone is welcome, although the emphasis is on sailing skiffs any class of craft would be welcome through that period.

The annual Regatta is on the last Saturday of July, when we can expect around 50 boats/yachts of all sizes.
